Law Enforcement Contacts with Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder

This course is designed to help officers and first responders recognize that someone may be on the spectrum.  Once it is known/believed that an individual is on the spectrum, a different set of techniques may be required to communicate and interact with these individuals.  The course also provides ideas on how to handle these types of contacts.  The course is conducted by Sgt. Cory Sutton, The University of Oklahoma Police Department, and Traci Sutton, Speech-Language Pathologist, M.S., CCC

This course is accredited through CLEET for 8 hours of continuing education and 2 hours of mental health training.
