OMAG is excited to offer an intensive training series on law enforcement liability for select law enforcement personnel around the State: the OMAG LELA Training Series. The purpose of the OMAG LELA Training Series is to provide CLEET-accredited*, in-depth training on common and emerging legal issues facing law enforcement in Oklahoma. The OMAG LELA Training Series - Class 3 will consist of three training sessions, each consisting of traditional classroom training and roundtable discussions, utilizing case law, body cam, and other materials from real-life incidents.

All sessions of Class 3 will cover Fourth Amendment issues of traffic stops, uses of force, arrests, searches, entries, and post-incident reviews.

Where will each session be held?

All sessions will take place at OMAG in Edmond, OK. 

What does Class 3 cost your municipality?

Class 3 is $150/per student, this fee will be waived for OMAG members. This fee is due at Session 1 on January 22, 2025.

Who should apply?

First line supervisors and command staff of any Oklahoma Police Department are encouraged to apply.

What is expected of you, if you are selected to attend?

OMAG requires your commitment to participation in a LELA Class 3 Kick-off conference call, in-person attendance and participation at each Session, completion of each pre-Session assignment, and completion of each post-Session survey.

What do you receive at each session?

At each session you attend, you will receive CLEET credit, lunch, educational materials, and training from savvy, experienced legal professionals dedicated to helping Oklahoma law enforcement.

Upon completion of all session requirements, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and a unique OMAG LELA Training Series challenge coin.

How do you become a participant of the OMAG LELA Training Series Class 3?

You must complete the online application by October 30, 2024.  Class 3 is limited in size and OMAG will select students based on the information provided in the online application.
