OMAG has established specific prerequisites that must be met prior to submitting the grant.

Utilizing all facets of Lexipol is a proven way to help mitigate liability exposure for your agency,  municipality, and yourself in law enforcement-related liability claims and lawsuits.  Therefore, your agency is required to utilize Lexipol as its policy development resource. 

For all Body Worn Camera Grant applications dated after July 01, 2024, your agency must satisfy all of the following criteria as outlined in your monthly Lexipol report: 

  • Policies must be Title 11 compliant.

    • Must have a minimum OMAG-Lexipol score of 80 points.

  • Updates pending:  Less than 5.  Meaning, your department must have less than 5 policy updates pending that have been pushed out by Lexipol.

  • Policies issued:  Greater than 80%.  Meaning, your department must have issued greater than 80% of the policies you have selected for your policy manual.

  • Policies Acknowledged:  Greater than 80%.  Meaning, 100% of your officers must have acknowledged greater than 80% of the policies you have issued to your officers.

  • Daily Training Bulletins (DTBs) Issued:  Greater than 80%.  Meaning, you must have issued to your officers greater than 80% of the DTBs pushed out by Lexipol in the last 12 months.

  • DTBs Taken: Greater than 80%.  Meaning, 100% of your officers must complete greater than 80% of the issued DTBs in the last 12 months.
